Within hours of roasting, all coffee begins to stale. There's no stopping it. After two weeks, flavor and aroma start to fade. After three, the characteristics that distinguish one coffee from another may disappear. Your specialty coffee isn't very special anymore. Packaging gimmicks may slow the staling process, but they can't preserve the spectacular flavor of genuinely fresh coffee. That's why, at Lexington Coffee, we roast only to order, mark each bag with the roasting date, and ship each coffee the same day it's roasted.

In 2006, 2007 and 2008, our coffees were among the top 10 finalists of the SCAA/Roasters Guild of America nationwide “Roasters Choice” competition, a blind tasting judged by coffee experts. We are the only roaster in the country to place so highly all 3 years. The remarkable flavor of our coffees, along with the training we provide for coffeehouses and espresso bars, has helped many of our customers win “Best Coffeehouse” honors in their communities, and our own coffeehouse, which we sold in 2002, twice won the Specialty Coffee Association of America Tops Award for Excellence.
